Venezia: Girolamo Scoto, 1546.   Two editions of Aristotelis that are very difficult to find on the market, both published in Venice. The first work deals with speech and in the present edition is accompanied by the commentary of Ammonius of Hermea (440-523). The second work is the commentary by Alexander of Aphrodisias, one of Aristotle's major peripatetic commentators.   2 works in one volume, folio (305 x 212mm). Printer's device on titles and colophon of the first work, woodcut headpieces and initials, with blank G6 of second work (first gathering almost detached, light browning, waterstains, wormtracks on the inner margin of gatherings M-O and touching text of P-Q in the first work, on the text of the first two leaves and in the lower margin of gathering B in the second work). Contemporary vellum (without laces, stains, rubbing and chipping). Provenance: Est Petri Angeli Panironi Barge (contemporary ownership inscription on endpaper) - occasional contemporary annotations.
