Venice: Francesco Ziletti, 1586.   First edition of this fascinating work dedicated to the emblems of the notables families of the time, described by Camilli in the dedication to Ferdinando de' Medici as "imagini de' pensieri, ritraendo una sola un pensier solo virtuoso". Each emblem is finely illustrated by an engravings by Girolamo Porro (1520-1604).   3 parts in one volume, 4to (212 x 155mm). Three engraved titles, woodcut headpieces and initials, engraved vignettes depicting emblems, third part in variant B of SBN (light restorations on title slightly touching engraving, browning sometime heavier, some foxing and soiling). Later vellum, manuscript title on spine, blue edges (light rubbing at spine's ends).
