Venice: s.n., 1545.   A difficult work to find on the market, printed after the first in 1543 which was published in the vernacular in Lyon. It is the most renowned work of the brilliant humanist and writer Ortensio Lando and it contains his paradoxical speeches.   8vo (154 x 98mm). Woodcut initials (small wormhole to penultimate leaf, repaired on final leaf, occasional staining, very light foxing). Later quarter-calf over dark pink boards, titles on labels and gilt decorations on spine (titles not very readable, minimum wear). Provenance: Libreria antiquaria Mediolanum (bookseller's label on front endpaper).
