SANSOVINO, Francesco (1521-1583) - Le lettere sopra le diece giornate del Decamerone. Venice: Venturino Ruffinelli, 1542.   Gamba describes the 1543 edition noting that "Someone remembers an edition printed in 1542, which could perhaps be the same with the changed title". The collation of these two editions is identical as well as the printer's device depicting San Giorgio and the Dragon (V448) which corresponds to that used both by Venturino Ruffinelli and Baldassarre Costantini.   8vo (152 x 100mm). Printer's device on title, woodcut initials, with final blank (title and first leaves repaired in the margin, some spotting and minor staining). Contemporary limp vellum, later manuscript title on spine and earlier manuscript title to lower edge (later endpapers, lacking part of laces, lightly bowed).
