SENECA, Lucio Anneo (4 a.C.- 65) - Giusto LIPSIO (editore, 1547-1606) - Opera quae exstant omnia. Antwerp: Balthazar Moretus ex officina plantiniana, 1652.   An excellent collection of Seneca's works edited by Giusto Lipsio, famous Flemish humanist and philosopher who was a teacher and friend of the owner of the officina Plantiniana Balthazar Moretus, printer of this edition. The work is complete with engraved portraits of Lipsius and Seneca.   Folio (412 x 252mm). Engraved portrait of Justus Lipsius, engraved frontispiece, two full-page engraved illustrations depicting portraits of Seneca, collation in variant B of SBN (browning, foxing, waterstaining in the lower margin, occasional soiling). Contemporary calf with gilt coat of arms on covers, gilt decorations on spine, red edges (rebacked). Provenance: Sir Walter Becker (b.1855, diplomat and businessman, bookplate on endpaper).
