[SQUARCIALUPI] - Codice Squarcialupi. Ms. Mediceo Palatino 87. Florence: Giunti, 1992.   A reproduction of the codex created in the monastery of Santa Maria degli Angeli and containing over 350 works by the main 14th century Florentine composers, with elaborate initial portraits. It takes its name from the organist Antonio Squarcialupi (1416-1480), servant of the Medici, who became its owner in the 15th century. The manuscript brings together an extraordinary number of profane music from the 14th century, with works by composers such as Francesco Landini, Bartolino da Padova and others. Noteworthy are the floral ornaments and gilding that adorn the pages, linking the decoration to the content of the songs.   (410 x 285mm). Copy no. 972 of 998. Detailed colour reproduction of the original codex. Editorial binding in a half-calf slipcase. With a volume of commentary.
