Rome: Vincenzo Poggioli, 1819.   Two fascinating works composed by the archaeologist and topographer Nibby, member of the Roman Academy of Archeology and professor of archeology at Sapienza University. The first work is complete with 42 engraved plates, of which 11 are folding maps of the territories of the Roman countryside, while the others depict glimpses and views. The second work illustrates the most famous and fascinating places in the Roman countryside.   5 volumes, (prima opera: 213 x 145mm; seconda opera: 235 x 152mm x mm). First work with 42 total engraved plates, the second work with a folding engraved map (general browning, foxing, in the first work marginal wormtrack repaired in the second part of the second volume). Two volumes in contemporary half vellum over marbled paper, gilt titles on spine labels, three volumes in contemporary half calf over marbled paper, gilt title on spine labels (spines almost detached in the volumes of the first work, general rubbing). For the second work it was not possible to find a collation, our copy is collated as follows: first volume 1-3/8 4/4 (preliminary discours); π2 1-34/8 35/4 36/6; second volume 1-42/8 43/4 (-43/4); third volume 1-47/8 48/4.
