SAVI, Gateano (1769-1844) - Materia medica vegetabile toscana. Florence: Molini, Landi e C., 1805.   First and only edition of this work by Savi dedicated to Tuscan medicinal plants. The author was professor of physics and botany at the University of Pisa, as well as director of its famous Botanical Garden starting from 1814. Our copy is complete of the dedication on leaf Π², rarely present in other copies; there isn't a second title, sometimes present in copies on the market but not described in SBN and of which no digitized copy has been found.   Folio (364 x 230mm). 60 engraved numbered plates (some waterstaining, browning and foxing). Quarter vellum, covers in marbled paper (some small wormholes, light wear).
