In addition to the portrait of the dedicatee Cardinal Gian Francesco Falzacappa (1767-1840), the engravings portray many figures of the Papal Court in the context of various religious ceremonies.   8vo (211 x 140mm). 75 watercoloured engraved plates, text in Italian and French (foxing, browning). Contemporary vellum, gilt palmette border with Papal Keys in the center surmounted by the Triregnum on covers, gilt rich decorations and title on spine, yellow edges (very light rubbing mostly at corners and joints).
