Parigi: s.n., 1763.   A delightful copy in contemporary red morocco of this pocket atlas which includes splendid colour maps of the two hemispheres, the continents and several detailed maps of Europe. Rizzi-Zanoni was a renowned cartographer and geographer, who began his career in Poland in 1753 at the service of King Augustus III and was active in Sweden, Denmark, France and Italy.   2 works in one volume, 12mo (118 x 75mm). Engraved and hand-coloured frontispiece and title, "avertissement" and 29 numbered coloured and double-page engraved maps, one unnumbered plate (plate 1 slightly loose, some light foxing and browning). Contemporary red morocco, title on label and gilt decorations on spine and covers, gilt edges, marbled endpapers (minimal losses at the upper end of spine and minimal wear). It was not possible to find a collation for the second work, our copy is collated as follows: π2, A16, B12, χ1". Provenance: Jean Cadilhac (1931-1999) bishop of Nîmes since 14 October 1973 (bookplate on front endpaper).
