[EGBERTI] - Codex Egberti. Ms. 24 - Lantern: Faksimile Verlag, 2005.   Egbert's Evangelistary is the oldest graphic representation of the life cycle of Christ that has come down to us. Commissioned by Archbishop Egbert of Trier and created between 980 and 993 in the scriptorium of Reichenau Abbey, it contains the evangelical texts read during the annual mass. Two friars from Reichenau, under the direction of Master Gregory, created 56 splendid miniatures. In 2004, the Evangelistary was included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.   (265 x 205mm).
