[MUSICA - Giornale Musicale del teatro italiano di S. Pietroburgo N° 9].   An interesting collection of works and scores among which the fifth stands out: Musical Journal of the Italian Theater of St. Petersburg No. 9; engraved on 6 leaves on strong greenish paper.   This is the score of the first Russian performance of Cimarosa's opera held in 1795 in St. Petersburg. The singer was Teresa Saporiti. “In 1795 she appeared in Sarti's Due litiganti at the Verona Philharmonic Academy (Dorina). In the same year she left for a tour in Russia with the company of Gennaro Astarita, who saw her as the first buffa in Cimarosa's Italiana in Londra and in Paisiello's Barbiere di Siviglia in Petersburg. During her stay in Russia, which lasted until 1796, she also gave a concert in Moscow." (D.B.I. ad vocem). Teresa Saporiti was born between 1763 and 1764, presumably in Lombardy. Her older sister, Antonia, also a singer, was presumably born in Bologna and sang in Dresden, Leipzig and Prague; he soon abandoned his career due to health problems, but continued to teach singing privately until his early death in Prague on 13 October 1787. Antonia and Teresa, both engaged by the opera company of Pasquale Bondini and Domenico Guardasoni in 1782, were often indicated on the billboard respectively as "Saporiti die ältere" and "Saporiti die jüngere", which dispels any doubts about their family ties. It is probable that Antonia and Teresa's father was the Bolognese singer Filippo Saporiti (cf. Sartori, 1990), active in Cremona in 1753, in Mannheim in 1756, 1758 and 1760 and, in the 1780s, employed in the Bondini-Guardasoni company as treasurer. Upon returning to Italy he settled in Milan. In these years there are references to her with the married name of Teresa Saporiti-Codecasa. She died over a hundred years old in Milan on March 17, 1869. (D.B.I. ad vocem).   Oblong folio (238 x 344mm). (Some soiling, dampstaining, repairs and tears with small losses).
