The treatise takes the form of a dialogue between Bernardo Vecchietti, the sculptor Ridolfo Sirigatti and some Florentine nobles and is set in the Tuscan villa "Il Riposo". The author, describing in detail the works of art preserved in churches and private collections, provides an important historical testimony and outlines the customs and artistic taste of the Florentine nobility of the time.   8vo (158 x 103mm).
