A 16th century edition this fundamental work by Thomas Aquinas, dating back to his second period of teaching in Paris (1268-1272). Folio (317 x 215mm). Title with woodcut decoration and portrait of Aristotle, woodcut initials and decorations, printer's device at colophon (tiny marginal hole on title, slight text loss in H2-3 due to a hole, some wormtracks sometimes touching text, waterstaining, some foxing and browning). Modern binding reusing a leaf from manuscript antiphonary, decorated endpapers (slight stains and minor wear). Provenance: contemporary ownership inscriptions deleted on title.
