A 16th-century edition of the work of Dionysius of Halicarnassus, proposed in the translation by Francesco Venturi. It is the famous historical-archaeological work dedicated to Rome, embracing Roman history from the mythical period to the beginning of the First Punic War. The first Latin edition appeared in Treviso in 1480. 4to (202 x 145mm). Printer's device on title, woodcut initials (waterstains to first gatherings, light browning). 19th-century binding with gilt title on spine, red speckled edges (light rubbing).
