Venice: Bernardo Giunta, 1610.   Second edition, published shortly after the first one in 1609, of this account of the wars of Flanders, which Giustiniani experienced fighting in the siege of Ostend (1601-04). Here Giustiniani lost an arm which was replaced a metal prosthesis, earning him the nickname "iron arm" which made him famous.   4to (220 x 165mm). Printer's device on title, woodcut headpieces and initials (browning, foxing). Contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine and upper edges (rubbing, stains). Provenance: Vincentij Gregorii (ancient ownership inscription on endpaper) - a few early annotations.
