Venice: Comin da Trino, 1550.   A good copy of this book considered one of the best examples of comic style in Renaissance literature.   4to (210 x 145mm). Woodcut portrait of the author on title within an elaborate woodcut border with cherubs, woodcuts at the beginning of each canto and initials (title with reinforcement to inner margin and restoration to lower one, final gathering with some wormtracks partly restored, a few light staining). Later vellum, red edges (light stains and wear). Provenance: "Edizione assai rara e citata dalla Crusca" (inscription on front endpaper).
