RAIMONDI, Eugenio (sec. XVII) - Delle caccie. Naples: Lazzaro Scoriggio, 1626.   Second edition, expanded and corrected after the first edition of 1607. In addition to the expansion of the first four books, this edition is accompanied for the first time by a fifth book, 'della villa e i suoi piaceri,' focusing on the management of agricultural estates. The first book deals with dogs and horses, their illnesses, and treatments; the second, with hunts of deer, wild boar, fox, wolf, bears, elephants, lions, tigers, unicorns, leopards, camels, and dromedaries; the third book discusses the hunting of swans, peacocks, pheasants, quails, thrushes, blackbirds, owls, and birds in general; the fourth covers fishing.   4to (200 x 140mm). Title within an elaborate engraved border, woodcut initials and tailpieces, numerous engraved illustrations (marginal restorations to the first four leaves, more pronounced at the end, touching text only on one leaf, tiny ink holes to lower margin of title, some staining, L3 with a small tear to the lower margin of the engraving, some light foxing). Later half-calf, gilt decorations and label on spine, decorated paper boards, yellow edges (a few small wormholes and minimal wear). Provenance: ownership inscription removed on title.
