DE ROSSI, Giovanni Giacomo (1627-1691) - Nuova raccolta di fontane che si vedano nell'alma città di Roma, Tivoli e Frascati. Rome: Giovanni Giacomo De Rossi, [1650 ca.].   A fascinating collection of engravings depicting the most beautiful Roman fountains, with the signatures of the printer De Rossi and the engravers Giovanni Maggi, Francesco Corduba and Louis Rouhier. The final plates of the collection, in particular, are extremely similar to those of the following work by Falda, who trained under De Rossi. The exact number of plates is uncertain, the British Library has two copies with 29 and 43 plates respectively, SBN reports 36 plates.   Oblong folio (255 x 396mm). Engraved title, coat of arms of the dedicatee Andrea Corsini on title, 43 engravings on 24 leaves (browning, waterstaining to the first three leaves, occasional soiling, blue stamp touching the engraving on 6 leaves). Modern boards, blue cloth spine (waterstaining, light rubbing, worn paper label on spine). Provenance: blue monogram stamp to engravings - Morozzo della Rocca (bookplate on endpapers) - Libreria Maglione & Strini (bookseller's label on endpapers).
