WATTS, William (1752-1851) - The seats of the nobility and gentry in a collection of the most interesting and picturesque views. London: William Watts, 1779-86.   A delightful collection in an elaborate binding of the engravings by Watts depicting many English stately homes and their gardens at the end of the 18th century. The delicate engravings were also made on Watts' own drawings, as well as those of William Tomkins, Richard Wilson, John Inigo Richards and others. Each plate is accompanied by its respective page of text.   Oblong 4to (192 x 260mm). Engraved title, 84 engraved plates (tear on plate 52 not touching the engraving, browning and foxing). Contemporary long-grain morocco with richly blindstamped floral decorations on covers, gilt fillet on covers, gilt decorations and title on spine, gilt edges (later endpapers, hinges reinforced, rubbing on the corners and ends, general light rubbing).
