[MILITARIA - MANOSCRITTO] - DANO, Joseph-Achanose (n. 1746) - Plans concernant les manoeuvres et evolutions de l’Infanterie suivant l’ordonnance du Roy du 20 Mars 1764.   A fascinating illustrated manuscript whose plates show various combat positions of the regiment. They are accompanied by large ribbons decorated with the specification of the plate and watercoloured, highlighting exquisite details, including flags and commanders. The Swiss Eptingen Regiment was formed on 25 February 1758 after an agreement between the King of France and the Prince-Bishop of Basel. Most of the officers were Alsatian gentlemen. It participated in the German campaigns (1760-1762) of the Seven Years' War and in Corsica campaign (1767), once hostilities ended, the regiment remained in the traditional garrison towns on the borders of Alsace and the North. Manuscript title, 8 large double plates drawn and watercoloured by hand (all leaves relaid on cloth, tears restored on title, tears in plates 1, 5 and 8 slightly touching the drawings). Modern decorated paper boards (chipping at spine). Provenance: A. Pasinetti (?) (volunteer in this regiment in Corsica, ownership inscription on title) - contemporary notes in two leaves bound at the beginning and at the end.
